HUNTERSVILLE – Members of the North Mecklenburg High School Debate and Speech team attended the National Catholic Forensic League’s Grand National Championships in Washington, D.C., over the Memorial Day weekend, with more than 2,000 students from across the country competing.

Senior Cameron Langford and junior Conner Taylor reached the octo-final round in public forum debate, while junior Catherine Bizub reached the semifinal round in student congress.

Three team members also will attend the National Forensic League competition in Dallas, Texas, June 13 to 18. Senior Raul Gonzalez will compete in original oratory, and junior Brooke Carter and sophomore James Williams will compete as a team in duo interpretation.
