HUNTERSVILLE – The Huntersville Family Fitness and Aquatic center will host the eighth-annual Firecracker 5K and Kids’ Fun Run on July 2.

More than 600 participants are expected to take part in the run, and organizers invite people to remain for a Stay and Play feature with several activities planned at the facility’s outdoor pool.

The race costs $20 for adults before June 24 and $25 from June 25 to July 1 on race day registration costs $30.  Kids entry fees are $8 before June 24 and $10 after that.

Race day tickets for children cost $15.
