Haleigh Wilkinson, a Barnette Elementary School third-grader, recently donated hair to Locks of Love after growing it out for two years.

“Haleigh loves to help people and she knew this was an accomplishment that would take time but she stuck to it,” her stepmother, Rhonda Wilkinson, said in an email.

Haleigh got her new, stacked-bob haircut last week at Cutting Image Salon in Huntersville.

Haleigh’s proud parents are Jennifer Higgins and Tony Wilkinson.
