HUNTERSVILLE – Candice Farnie, of Huntersville, will take part in the Mrs. North Carolina United States pageant Saturday, June 4, in Newton.

Farnie moved to Huntersville two years ago with her husband, Matt, and their two children, Micah, 6, and Myla, 2.

Farnie hopes to bring attention to her platform of educating people on the effects of bullying.

Aside from her pageant duties, Farnie works with the Crises Pregnancy Center in Concord as a volunteer counselor and is working with Guardians of the Children.

Guardians of Children is an organization that works to prevent child abuse and bring awareness and support to those who may be victims of abuse.
