TROUTMAN – Will Odom, a Herald Weekly freelance photographer, has been named Teacher of the Year at South Iredell High School, where he teaches Spanish.
Odom has been teaching at the school for two years and has been a teacher for six years, spending time educating students in Mississippi and Costa Rica.
“It is a complete honor to receive this award because it comes from my colleagues,” Odom said in an email. “There are many great and well-deserving teachers at my school, so it is very humbling to be chosen, especially since this is only my second year at South Iredell.”
His fellow teachers chose Odom for the honor.
Will Odom’s wife, Erin Odom, is a freelance reporter for the Herald Weekly and a columnist for the Mooresville Weekly’sister paper to the Herald.
Check out their work in this week’s Herald Weekly.
