CORNELIUS – The North Mecklenburg Senior Center will hold an open house and activity showcase Friday, May 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in conjunction Older Americans Month. The center is located in the River Church, 18731 W. Catawba Ave.

“We invite all seniors and residents to come and join us this Friday at the center,” Director Joanne Ahern said in a news release. “There will be games, classes, food, door prizes and demonstrations of the programs that we have here at the center all year round.”

The center also will host a “try-it” week Monday through Friday, May 9 to 13, and again May 16 to 20 to allow citizens to sample activities, including exercise classes, spice lectures and card games, for free.
