Less than a year after he was hired, Davidson Day athletics director Tim Weir will step down from his position. Davidson Day Public Relations Director John Tobias said Wier made the move for family reasons. Weir also was the Patriots’ track coach.

“Tim is leaving due to him moving back to the Northeast area, which is where he and his wife are originally from,” said Tobias. “(Upper School Division Head) Michael Smith will serve as the interim athletics director, and (volleyball coach) Catherine Fulton will serve as the interim assistant athletics director.”
