Huntersville police are investigating a wreck over the weekend where a 16-year-old Hough High School student was killed.

Parker Bragg, of Huntersville, died early morning Sunday when his Ford Focus slid off of McCord Road and slammed into a tree. He was not wearing his seat belt, police said, and was thrown from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.

It is unclear why he slid off of the road, police said.
