HUNTERSVILLE – Bailey, Bradley and Davidson IB middle schools are collaborating to raise $65,000, which will fund a Habitat for Humanity house in the Huntersville area. Fundraising efforts have begun, and students hope to be ready to build the house by next spring.
The official kick-off event is scheduled for Monday, April 11, at a track meet between Bailey and Bradley middle schools. Festivities begin at 4:30 p.m. at the Bradley track and will include announcements of the project’s winning slogan and the winner of the school “spirit links” competition, as well as a moon bounce and food. Volunteers will also sell Habitat for Humanity T-shirts for $10.
Students and faculty of the three middle schools ask that community members join them as they unite their schools, colleagues and the community in knowing the joy of sharing one’s time, money and talents to help others.
The fundraiser’s participants would like to thank their founding sponsors: Jaylene G Moss, Ltd., the Bradley Athletic Booster Club, BB&T Northlake, Kids Go Bananas, Rion Homes and J Roser Photography.
