HUNTERSVILLE – Latta Plantation, an historic farm museum, is holding a day for home school students of all ages to learn about farm life and Civil War history on April 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Plantation is home to various breeds of rare and endangered livestock, as well as traditional farm animals. The historic farm is brought to life through first-person interpretations of sharecropping after the Civil War.

Students will also learn about planting and plowing as staff prepares the garden for a new season of crops.

The cost is $6 per person. Members and children ages four and younger are admitted free.
