Middle school students with a passion for science have two weeks left to enter the 2011 Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge for a chance to win $25,000.

To enter, students in fifth through eighth grades must submit a short video that explains the science behind a solution to an everyday problem, such as:

• How to create greener transportation options.

• How to detect/prevent food poisoning.

• How to protect people in the event of an emergency.

All video entries must be submitted by April 15 to www.youngscientistchallenge.com.
