State road crews work on the roundabout at Stumptown Road and Hugh Torance Parkway on Tuesday, April 25, for a project expected to take an estimated four to five weeks.
Construction crews are reclaiming the roundabout, a more extensive, long-lasting type of repair project than normal resurfacing. While the project is ongoing, the roundabout is closed.
Drivers trying to get to Hugh Torance Parkway can take Stumptown Road to Ranson Road to Gilead Road to Wynfield Creek Parkway to Hugh Torance Parkway. Coming west on Stumptown, to avoid the roundabout, drivers should turn north on U.S. 21 to N.C. 73. Go west on N.C. 73 and then left on Northcross Drive, back to Stumptown Road.
Detour signs will be posted directing motorists along the new routes.
This is a N.C. Department of Transportation project and all questions should be sent to this District’s Engineer office, at 7605 District Drive, in Charlotte or 704-596-6900.
