CORNELIUS – The third annual Guns vs. Hoses Charity Softball Game, pitting members of the Cornelius Police Department against the staff of Cornelius-Lemley Fire & Rescue, will take place May 7, a Saturday, at American Legion Park.

This year, proceeds from the game will go toward construction of the Cornelius Veterans Monument. Sponsorships are available, and donations will be accepted. The game last from noon until about 3 p.m. at the park, located between Legion and Spring streets off North Main Street. The department’s invite families to enjoy food and fun and support a good cause.
