HUNTERSVILLE –  An open house celebration combined with a Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce after-hours gathering will mark the opening of the new Hampton Inn & Suites on Thursday, April 21, at 10305 Wilmington St.



Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. and the public is invited to enjoy free music, refreshments and a ribbon cutting. Proceeds from a silent auction will go to the Red Cross to support survivors of Japans earthquake and tsunami Survivors.



The new 125-room hotel is the largest by room count in Huntersville and features an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, free Wi-Fi, business center and 625 square feet of meeting space.



The new hotel joins the Hampton Inn in Cornelius as the second Lake Norman property owned and operated by Daly Seven Inc. The company was born in 1961 when Philip and Frances Daly purchased Danville Memorial Gardens and built the first Innkeeper Hotel in 1972 in Danville, Va.
