DAVIDSON – Employees of Ingersoll-Rand’s Davidson facility took part in a photo contest and gardening challenge in observance of Earth Day.

In the “Bloom Challenge,” employees of the five Ingersoll Rand buildings at the plant competed to see which could plant the most flower beds – 2,000 lily bulbs were split among the buildings – at their own building. Over time, as the flowers start to bloom, “it will be easy to see who was the most successful in the challenge,” the company said.  Throughout April, the company asked employees to submit a photo of their child taking part in an activity helping the environment or community and promoting “eco-friendly values.” The winner get retailer gift cards.
Earth Day is April 22.
