Torrence Creek Elementary students’ got a reward for raising more than $5,400 for Pennies for Patients, a nationwide three-week spare change drive that benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Principal Chuck Nusinov transformed into “Princess Nu-rella” on the school morning announcements television show on Friday, April 15.

His fairy godmother, literacy facilitator Martha Acquisto, adorned Nusinov with a tiara, belt, cape, magic wand and lipstick. “It’s not every day you get to come into school a king and leave a princess,” Nusinov told students.
