DAVIDSON – The Community School of Davidson and Woodland Discovery, a nature program that teaches people how to connect with the outdoors, are sponsoring a showing of the film “Play Again,” a documentary that examines the imbalance between the virtual and natural worlds and its efforts on children.
The public is invited to the May 4 showing from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the school’s auditorium, 565 Griffith St. No pre-registration is required.
The film follows six teenagers, who, like many American children, spend five to 15 hours a day behind screens. “Play Again” unplugs the teens and brings them on their first wilderness adventure.
Woodland Discovery, located at 8755 Poplar Tent Road, offers a variety of summer camps for children ages 4 to 11. Find more information at the program’s website, woodlawndiscovery@gmail.com, or call 704-439-7764.
