CONCORD – Cannon School invites Lake Norman and north Charlotte families to enjoy Arts Jam, an evening of art and jazz, April 29 at 5 p.m. on the school’s campus, 5801 Poplar Tent Road.

“Arts Jam is an unforgettable celebration of music, dance, theater and visual arts,” Belinda Armstrong, Cannon’s fine arts department chair, said. “Participants of all ages can be creative and make something unique, learn a new dance or relax to the cool sounds of jazz on the lawn. It will be a blast.”

Headliners include Omimeo Mime Theatre, a Charlotte mime ensemble; award-winning jazz ensemble Air Apparent; and the Scrap Exchange, which will return to campus to help guests turn clean, reusable industrial discards into one-of-a-kind items ranging from hats and rockets to puppets and handbags.

Jazz on the Lawn will begin at 6:45 p.m., when Cannon’s upper school jazz musicians open for Air Apparent, whose violinist and leader, Armen Boyajian, will perform with the students.
