The Hough girls lacrosse team finished second in the Conference 10 standings behind Lake Norman High School.
With nine wins in 13 matches, the Huskies are now hoping for an at-large bid to the N.C. High School Athletic Association state playoffs, which begin Friday, April 29. Only the conference 10 winner is guaranteed a spot.
Hough fell short of a conference title with a 15-12 loss to Lake Norman on April 15, a game in which the Huskies scored eight goals in the second half. Junior midfielder Bailey Leonard collected three goals, five groundballs and an assist, and caused two turnovers. Hough goalie Ty Dykes made 15 stops. On April 8, Hough defeated Hopewell, 17-7.
