On April 14, Lake Norman Charter lost a tough game for the Conference 10 regular-season boys lacrosse title.
The Knights (10-4, 6-1) fell to state title contender Lake Norman High, 17-5, in a battle of undefeated conference marks. Lake Norman Charter came out firing and took a two-goal lead off shots from Jake Koferl and Andrew Gobble, but the Wildcats found the net twice with less than one minute remaining in the half to take an 8-5 advantage. Lake Norman High finished the game with a nine-goal run. Lake Norman Charter’s John Clark was steller in the goal with a career-high 24 saves. Gobble and Koferl each finished with two goals. Matt Wine added a fifth netter to complete the scoring for the Knights.
