CORNELIUS – More than 140 people dressed up for an evening of dinner and dancing April 7 to raise money for the future Cornelius Veterans Monument. Many Cornelius staff members worked to make the Gala of Honor run smoothly at the Havana Banquet & Ballroom in the former Palace Theater. Tickets were $100, and Assistant Town Manager Andrew Grant said officials are still calculating how much the event cleared. The fundraising campaign has already reached 70 percent of its goal.
