Thirteen cooks – or cooking teams – entered their work in Huntersville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church’s first chili cook-off. Clara Brown took the blue ribbon, Misty Lackey the red and Mary Margaret Winburne third place. A lot of people enjoyed the competition at the church at 200 N. Old Statesville Road.
