HUNTERSVILLE –Kids Rein, a nonprofit therapeutic riding program, will hold its first annual horse-poker-run fundraiser April 30 at 9 a.m., a Saturday, at Latta Equestrian Center, 6201 Sample Road.
The cost is a $40 donation, which includes a T-shirt and barbecue lunch. Registration begins at 8:15 a.m. During the poker run, each rider begins with one card and collects four more at different stations throughout Latta trails. Prizes go to the rider with the best hand, worst hand and a “boo-bee” winner.
Riders also can take part in a silent auction, and Kids Rein is seeking donated gift for the silent auction.
Kids Rein begins its spring session Saturday, April 2, and needs to raise funds to continue the program and provide scholarships for children whose families qualify.
