CHARLOTTE – The deadline for the Intermezzo Awards’– a scholarship foundation that serves students in the Greater Charlotte Metropolitan area – second essay competition is approaching.



Interested high school students have until April 15 to write a 500-word essay detailing how poems from T.S. Eliot’s “Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats” are adapted in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Tony-award winning musical “Cats.” The winner will be given a gift certificate for tickets to a performance of “Cats” at Charlotte’s John Belk Theatre in May.
