HUNTERSVILLE – Eighth-graders at St. Mark Catholic School will participate in the 30-Hour Famine, in which they will experience what it is like to go hungry while raising money for World Vision, a Christian relief, development and advocacy organization that works to overcome poverty.
While fasting, students will hear from speakers and engage in activities designed to create empathy for those in third-world countries who go without food regularly. The eighth grade has set a fundraising goal of $10,000.
Those wishing to contribute to the project may send checks, payable to World Vision, to the school.
