Kelsey Carothers, a junior at Hough High School, will spend two weeks over the summer learning about British history and culture by traveling throughout the United Kingdom.
The American Community Schools sponsors the British Studies Program, which selects 14 high school students to travel to England from June 18 to July 2 and visit sites such as the Tower of London and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.
The students were chosen based on interviews and essays they wrote about British culture.
The students selected from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools also include Shauna Rust of Myers Park High School and Matthew Johnson of West Charlotte High.
