Ashley Neal, an 8-year-old Huntersville resident, donated 10 inches of her hair to Locks of Love on March 17.

Ashley is in Mrs. Brennan’s third-grade class at Pine Lake Preparatory and has been growing her hair for more than a year.

Locks of Love collects hair to make hairpieces for children who have long-term medical-related hair loss. After learning about the organization, Ashley wanted to do something for other children by donating her hair. Amanda Oty at Trendsetters cut and styled Ashley’s hair.
