DAVIDSON – A 5K will be held April 2 at Town Green to help the nonprofit group Friends of the Animals build an animal adoption-and-education center.

The races, coordinated by Queen City Timing, begin at 8 a.m. and continue until 2 p.m. Along with the race, there will be a K-9 Dog Walk and fun run. Awards will be given to people and pets alike.

The event is also seeking sponsors.
