The Huntersville Youth Athletic Association will hold an opening day parade on Saturday, March 26 at 8 a.m. The parade, which HYAA hopes will become an annual tradition, begins at Huntersville’s Discovery Place Kids and ends at North Meck Park. All HYAA baseball and softball players are invited to participate and wear their team uniforms. Once at North Meck Park, Huntersville Mayor Jill Swain will throw out the first pitch. The first game of the HYAA season will follow at 10 a.m. Baseball and softball players should meet in uniform at Discovery Place Kids at 7:30 a.m., where they will ride slowly in the back of pick-up trucks to North Meck Park.
