Zach Baughan of Huntersville, earned his Eagle Scout rank after building two backstops for the Huntersville Athletic Park lacrosse and soccer field. Zach is a member of Boy Scout Troop 156, in Mooresville, and a graduate of North Mecklenburg High School.
The backstops are 10 feet high and are equipped with netting that helps by collecting lacrosse balls and protecting walkers and runners from stray shots. Zach spent several years playing for North Meck‘s lacrosse team and recognized this need in the community.
Baughan is a freshman at Brigham Young University-Idaho. His parents are Steve and Andi Baughan and Rob and Linda Whitten.
Troop 156 meets at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Mooresville.
