DAVIDSON – The Ada Jenkins Center will hold its third annual FIRE, a 5K Run and barbecue, April 30. Registration for the 5K begins at 8 a.m., and the race starts at 10. The entrance fee is $25 in advance, or $35 on the day of the event. The fee includes a ticket to the barbecue.  Register to race at www.queencitytiming.com.

The day also includes a barbecue competition in two categories: hogmasters and backyard grillers. Hogmasters are those with professional grade equipment, and the fee for that category is $150. Backyard Grillers are local participants, and the fee for entry is $125.  Prizes will be awarded in both categories. The application deadline is Monday, March 14.
