The finals of the 2011 Huntington Learning Center Invitational at Hopewell High School between Hopewell and Winston-Salem Mount Tabor’s boys tennis teams was postponed until March 19. The tournament finals and consolation matches were originally scheduled to take place March 5.

The Titans advanced to the finals with an 8-1 win over Raleigh Athens Drive on March 4. Hopewell’s Tyler Roberts, Brian Andersen, John Armato, Danny Wintermeier and Chris Hourihan posted wins. Mount Tabor reached the finals after defeating I-MECK 4A conference competitor Lake Norman High School, 5-4.

Hopewell is 3-1 this season with shutout wins over Olympic and West Mecklenburg and a 7-2 loss to Providence. Tyler Roberts – Hopewell’s No. 2 seed and last season’s I-MECK singles tournament champion – has won all four of his matches.
