In its first year the Polar Plunge encouraged 45 people to jump into the 45-degree waters of Lake Norman. But as many of their T-shirts announced, they were certainly “Freezin’ for a Reason.” The event, held at Beatties Ford Park off of Unity Church Road in Denver, raised $9,079 for Special Olympics.
