HUNTERSVILLE – Barrett Long has been tapped as the interim director of Discovery Place Kids after current leader Debbie Curry recently announced her resignation.

Long will take over the Huntersville museum effective March 4 and will over see all daily operations.

“Discovery Place Kids was a labor of love for me and I am thankful to have worked with such a strong and dedicated team,” Curry said.

Curry has been with Discovery Place for 11 years and helped open the kids’ museum in October 2010.

“She leaves a lasting legacy and we are grateful for her incredible commitment to the museum for so many years,” said John Mackay, president and CEO of Discovery Place, Inc.
