DAVIDSON – The Davidson Fire Department held its annual ICE Gala, which will benefit the Ada Jenkins Center, on Jan. 22. This year the department donated a ride on a fire engine in a 2011 parade. This item was auctioned for $100, and the winner will choose which parade.

The gala, which celebrated its fifth year, raises money for the Ada Jenkins Center each year by auctioning off donated items.

About 400 people attended this year’s event. The money raised helps Ada Jenkins with programs like the afterschool program, the Loaves and Fishes pantry, social services and the medical clinic. The total amount raised was not immediately available.

Ada Jenkins Executive Director Georgia Krueger said in a news release that the partnership between the Ada Jenkins Center and Davidson Fire Department is “a cherished one for both the center and the community.”
