CONCORD – Cannon School will add a third full-day first-grade class beginning in August 2011 to meet the increased demand for the program.

“Enrollment applications for first grade have increased steadily over the last three years,” said Bill Diskin, director of admission and financial aid.  “There has been strong interest in the program from families in Lake Norman and Concord communities.”

In August 2012, Cannon School will add a third second-grade class to accommodate the addition of this first grade class. Cannon’s first- and second- grade programs enroll approximately 20 students per class, each with a full-time teacher and an assistant.

Head of Lower School Michelle Alexander will soon begin the process of hiring a full-time, first-grade teacher and an assistant.

The school’s enrollment application deadline has been extended to March 15 to accommodate additional applicants to first grade. Cannon School will host an admissions open house on Feb. 26 at 1 p.m. in Taylor Hall. To learn more, call the admission office at 704-721-7199.
