HUNTERSVILLE – The Bear Scouts of Huntersville Cub Scout Pack 42 visited the Hugh Torrance House and Store, 8231 Gilead Road, on Nov. 8 to learn a little history of  northern Mecklenburg County. The store is North Carolina’s oldest standing store and residence and one of Mecklenburg County’s few surviving 18th century structures.  The tour of the historic home was led by Torrance Board Chairman and Lake Norman Chamber President Bill Russell.
