CORNELIUS – Visit Lake Norman will host the sixth annual Ryan Newman Charity Fishing Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 10, at Blythe Landing, 15901 N.C. 73.

The bass tournament, sponsored by Bass Pro Shops, begins at 7:30 a.m. with weigh-in starting at 3:30 p.m.

All tournament proceeds go to the Ryan Newman Foundation. Established in 2005, the foundation pursues several missions: educating people to spay/neuter their pets and to adopt dogs and cats from animal shelters; educating people about the importance of conservation; and providing college scholarships through the Rich Vogler Scholarship program to students interested in auto racing careers.
