DENVER – A 40-year-old Huntersville man was arrested last month during a drug raid at a Denver home where SWAT team members found marijuana and cocaine along with three children inside the house.
The Nov. 22 raid of a Dick Wilson Road home began around 11:30 p.m. where deputies found 12 grams of powder cocaine, three to five grams of crack cocaine and a small amount of marijuana, a news release said. Investigators also discovered three children, younger than eight years old, inside the home.
The Department of Social Services was notified following the incident. It is unclear whom the children belonged to.
This is the second time in three months the home has been raided by the Sheriff’s Office, the news release said.
The Sheriff’s Office charged two people, Reco Ricardo Cureton, of 16001 Statesville Road, Huntersville, and Gercobe Arnell McClaine, 24, following the raid. McClaine listed his address as homeless.
McClaine faces felony possession with intent to manufacture a Schedule I controlled substance, misdemeanor marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia charges, the news release said. Cureton was charged with felony cocaine possession, felony possession of a firearm by a felon and misdemeanor failing to store a weapon to protect a minor.
Both Cureton and McClaine were taken to the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center and held under $80,000 and $7,000 secured bonds respectively.
