CHARLOTTE – Mecklenburg County Solid Waste and Recycling department is asking residents to donate their Christmas trees to one of the area’s full-service recycling centers to be turned into mulch.

In north Mecklenburg County, residents can deliver their tree to the North Mecklenburg Yard Waste Facility, 12300 N. Statesville Road, Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The utility asks that all decorations be removed beforehand.
