DAVIDSON – The Town of Davidson will hold its second Station Area Plan information Session Jan. 5 at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall Board Room.

The information sessions are intended to gather public input on development sites along the potential Red Line rail corridor, explain the process of the Station Area Plan and present recommendations from existing plans.

At the first workshop Dec. 15, attendees visited tables focused on north, central and south Davidson. A facilitator at each table showed maps of each section, asking participants to identify possible land uses, opportunities and constraints. Comment cards were available for people to identify the types of development they saw as appropriate for each area and two things they would like to see.

The Jan. 5 workshop is intended for interested residents who could not attend Dec. 15.

The 2005 Davidson Station area plan β€œis being updated in order to focus on promoting growth in the Village Center, a target area of the Davidson Comprehensive Plan, and prepare for development along the rail line corridor,” according to a news release from the town.

The town will hold a four-day workshop Jan. 17 to 20 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
