Davidson Day Mandarin teacher trains in China

Starting Sunday, Dec. 11, she took part in the institute’s Chinese Language Teaching Materials Training for Overseas Chinese Language Teacher program. Participants took part in classes about teaching the Chinese language and learned various teaching skills and methods through discussion.
She is the only Mandarin Chinese teacher in the Charlotte area who attended the training.
“As an experienced teacher, I continuously seek new knowledge to improve my skills,” Jing He said. “I am confident this opportunity will provide me a boost in knowledge that will translate into heightened success for my students.”
Jing He is a native Chinese speaker with 15 years of experience teaching Mandarin to children and adults, including business professionals at area corporations. She last taught in Union County Public Schools, where she instructed Chinese classes from beginning to advanced levels, including AP and IB classes. She now teaches at Davidson Day, where Mandarin Chinese is a required course for all Early Childhood and Lower School students and an elective for eighth-graders.
