Now in its seventh year, The Tour of De-Lights lists homes in Huntersville, Cornelius and Davidson that go over the top in decorating their homes for the holidays.

Entries to be included in this year’s Tour of De-Lights will be accepted through Dec. 9.

Tour judges will be out evaluating entries Dec. 9, 10 and 11, from 6 to 10 p.m.

North Mecklenburg Senior Center holds Christmas events

HUNTERSVILLE – The North Mecklenburg Senior Center, 16601 Old Statesville Road, holds its Christmas Social on Dec. 8 from 11 a.m. to noon. Visitors will enjoy carols from the Children of Chesterbrook Academy, and share cookies and cocoa. The event is free.

Local columnist Harold Bales will speak for the center’s free lecture series on Dec. 9, a Friday, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Snacks and beverages will be provided as Bales speaks on finding humor through the mature years. The center hosts its Christmas Luncheon on Dec. 16, a Friday, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Food will be provided by K&W Cafeteria. The event costs $8 per person, or $4 for annual discount cardholders. The luncheon will feature a sing-along with Emily Roland.

The Huntersville Police Department will also be collecting Toys For Tots at the event.
