HUNTERSVILLE – The Hope House, North Mecklenburg’s only residential shelter for homeless women and their children, needs donations and volunteers.

The shelter needs size-3 diapers, paper towels, toilet paper, high-efficiency laundry detergent, dryer sheets, tall kitchen bags, trash bags, aluminum foil, tissues, disinfectant wipes, deodorant and bar soap, according to Executive Director Val Daye.

Hope House also is recruiting volunteers for its resident advisors team. Volunteers must be women 21 or older and must serve at least one 4-to-5-hour shift per month.
