CORNELIUS – Cornelius police are searching for a 40-year-old man wanted in connection with a number of charges stemming from an incident of domestic violence.

Police are asking anyone who knows the whereabouts of George Trevor Porrata, of Cornelius, to contact police immediately.

Porrata faces charges of felony assault by strangulation, felony second-degree kidnapping, interfering with emergency communication, assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault on a female.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred several months ago. Police haven’t been able to track down Poratta and are now asking the public for help.
