DAVIDSON – Curtis Scott Lemley, 49, of Mooresville, died Oct. 23, 2011.
Born March 2, 1962, in Allegan, Mich., Mr. Lemley was a son of Lila Lemley, of Holland, Mich., and the late Fred Lemley.
He was a professional tennis instructor at River Run Country Club in Davidson.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Julie Proctor Lemley, whom he married April 17, 1999; sons Vernon Betts Powell, Atlanta, Ga., and Julian Proctor Powell, Mooresville; brothers Jeffrey Lemley and wife, Sally, Kalamazoo, Mich., and Craig Allen Lemley and wife, Ana Maria, Matthews; and sister, Janis Myers, Holland, Mich.
A funeral service was held Oct. 27 at Davidson United Methodist Church, Davidson. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home was in charge.

Dr. Warren A. Jacobs
HUNTERSVILLE – Dr. Warren A. Jacobs, 77, of Huntersville, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, at the Huntersville Oaks.
Dr. Jacobs was born Jan. 26, 1934 in Covington, La.
Survivors include children Pam Southwell and Cindy and David Jacobs; brother, Stanley Jacobs; and six grandchildren.
A graveside service was held Wednesday, Nov. 2, at Elm Grove Cemetery in Murray, Ky. Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family.
Russell W. Wallace
HUNTERSVILLE – Russell “Russ” William Wallace, 77, of Huntersville, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte.
Born Aug. 2, 1934, in St. Louis, Mo., Mr. Wallace was a son of the late William Russell and Marie George Wallace.
Grandson Michael Samuel “Mikey” Wallace Jr. preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Buckles Wallace; sons Russell “Rusty” Wallace and wife, Patti, Cornelius, Michael “Mike” Wallace and wife, Carla, Concord, and Kenny Wallace and wife, Kim, Concord; brother, Gary Wallace, St. Louis, Mo.; and eight grandchildren.
A family will receive friends at Grace Covenant Church, Cornelius, Monday, Nov. 7, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 8, at Schrader’s Funeral Home in Ballwin, Mo. Burial will follow at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memorial in St. Louis, Mo. Samuel S. James, Funeral Service Licensee, is assisting the family locally.

Jeanne K. Lowrance
HUNTERSVILLE – Jeanne Cavelle Knox Lowrance, 90, of Huntersville, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, at Presbyterian Hospital.
Born Oct. 17, 1921, in Huntersville, Mrs. Lowrance was a daughter of the late Robert Brice and Annie Smith Knox.
She graduated from Cornelius High School and Appalachian Teachers College and retired as a fourth-grade teacher from Huntersville Elementary School.
Her husband, Mason, and brother Carlyle Knox preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons Mason Arlington “Sandy” Lowrance Jr., Mooresville, and Robert Brice “Robbie” Lowrance, Cornelius; brothers Hub Knox, Cornelius, and Max Knox, Denver; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, Nov. 2, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Cornelius, with burial in the church cemetery. Samuel S. James, Funeral Service Licensee, was in charge.
