CORNELIUS – Ramesh Hirabhai “Ron” Desai, 58, of Sasanoa Drive, Cornelius, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at Presbyterian Hospital Huntersville.
Born April 30, 1953, in Chanvai, India, Mr. Desai was a son of the late Hirabhai and Kesharben Desai.
He was an owner/operator in the hotel industry in Mecklenburg County and a member of the North Mecklenburg Rotary Club.
His brother, Parsottam Hirabhai Desai, and sister, Laxmiben N. Patel, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Madhuben Desai; children Hetal Ramesh Desai and husband, Mehul Shah, Niyati Ramesh Desai and husband, Raju Patel, and Jatin Ramesh Desai; brothers Thakorbhai H. and Ishverbhai H. Desai; and three grandchildren.
Last rites according to Hindu ritual were held Tuesday, Nov. 22, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville.

Mary G. Knox
DAVIDSON – Mary Parks Gabriel Knox, 87, of Davidson, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at Carolinas Medical Center.
Born Feb. 12, 1924, in Iredell County, Mrs. Knox was the daughter of the late William Lee and Winnie Hobbs Gabriel. She never lived more than a few miles from where she was born.
Her husband, Ralph Carson Knox, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her brother, Bill Gabriel, Elon; son, Ralph Carson Knox, and wife, Sheila, Mooresville; daughter, Jean Knox Manley, and husband, Paul, Mooresville, and a grandson.

A graveside service was held Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Bethel Presbyterian Church cemetery in Cornelius, conducted by the Rev. Lewis Smith. Samuel S. James, Funeral Service Licensee, Huntersville, was in charge.
