The McDowell Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant received the platinum award for its seventh consecutive year of perfect compliance, a news release said.
The McAlpine Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant picked up a gold award–its third consecutive such award–for one year of perfect compliance, and Irwin Creek Wastewater Treatment plant won the silver award for fewer than five violations in one year.
“Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utility Department has a primary goal to serve customers,” Utilities Director Barry Gullet said. “Our employees are proud of their professional achievements toward this one goal, which allowed these awards to happen. We are proud of our dedicated workforce that makes this system run, and prouder to serve the community that supports it.”
