Lake Norman native Virginia Grezch leads a walking tour of Davidson, weaving ghost stories and local haunts into town history. The one-and-a-half to two-hour tour covers a walking distance of about a mile on handicap-accessible brick sidewalks with marked pedestrian crossings.
Grzech will tell the ghost story buried inside Chambers Hall on Davidson College’s campus and the town’s old ice house that is now a popular restaurant.
The town’s namesake, General William Lee Davidson’s ghost will be another featured character.
Except Monday, Oct. 10, tours will run every night, weather permitting. Groups meet at 7 p.m. on Main Street outside the Soda Shop. Admission costs $10 for anyone older than 13, $5 for children ages eight to 12 and free from children seven and younger.
Grezch recommends reserving spots on the tour, as they fill up quickly. Additional weekend tours at 5 p.m. or 9 p.m. will be added if 7 p.m. walks fill up.
