Mary H. Ferguson
HUNTERSVILLE – Mary Etta Hager Ferguson, 86, of Huntersville, died Sept. 23, 2011,  at Levine & Dickson Hospice House.
Born Oct. 17, 1924, in Sumter County, S.C., Mrs. Ferguson was a daughter of the late Edgar Ray and Willie Edith Hodge Hager.
She worked at Standard Textiles.
Her husband, Norman Ferguson, and daughter Donna Matthews preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, Tony Flynn Kennerly, and wife, Tami, Woodruff, S.C.; daughter Sandra Widenhouse, Huntersville; sister, Doniv Amico, Huntersville; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Sept. 27 at First Baptist Church-Huntersville, with burial in the church cemetery. Samuel S. James, Funeral Service License, was in charge.

Marian S. Blaisdell

HUNTERSVILLE – Marian Smith Blaisdell, 91, of Huntersville, died Sept. 25, 2011, at The Havens of Highland Creek.
She was born Dec. 9, 1919, in Herkimer, N.Y.
Husbands Leo G. Zuk and Frank Blaisdell and son Gary Leo Zuk preceded her in death.
Survivors include son Kurt L. Zuk and wife, Jeanne, Hilton Head; sisters Eleanor Davis and Binnie Black; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Burial will take place in New York. Samuel S. James, Funeral Service Licensee, is assisting the family.

James R. Hamilton

HUNTERSVILLE – James “Duck” Hamilton, 73, died Sept. 30.
He was an airline pilot with Piedmont Airlines and was elected to the Georgia State senate in 1974.
Born June 21, 1938, Mr. Hamilton was a son of the late Ralph and the late Cora Belle West Hamilton.
Survivors include his daughter, Emilie Hamilton, of Huntersville; sister Dianne and brother, Clifford, of Fayetteville, Ga.
A funeral was held Thursday, Oct. 6 at Unity Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Carol Clark officiating. A burial followed in the Unity Presbyterian Church cemetery.
Warlick Funeral Home, Lincolnton, was in charge.

Stephanie B. Hamilton

HUNTERSVILLE – Stephanie Boardman Hamilton, 56, died Sept. 30, 2011.
She worked for Piedmont Airlines with her husband, Jim.
Born, Feb. 11, 1955, Mrs. Hamilton was a daughter of Jacquelyn Kirby and the late Lester Lawrence Boardman.
Survivors include her daughter, Emilie Hamilton, of Huntersville; sister, Sandra Harper and husband, Carl, of Spring, Texas;
A funeral was held Thursday, Oct. 6 at Unity Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Carol Clark officiating. A burial followed in the Unity Presbyterian Church cemetery.

Mary P. Palmer

HUNTERSVILLE – Mary Rose Pearson Palmer, 65, of Huntersville, died Sept. 28, 2011, at home.
Born Jan. 28, 1946, in Richmond, Va., Mrs. Palmer was a daughter of Virginia May Polaskye Pearson and the late Clarence Wildie Pearson Jr.
She graduated from Wheaton High School in Wheaton, Md., in 1964, and also from Davidson County Community College in Lexington. She was the general manager of the Days Inn in Cornelius.
Her sister, Theresa C. Sexton, preceded her in death.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include sons Wesley and Jeff Palmer, both of Charlotte, and brother, Carl Pearson, Oak Island.
A service was held Sunday, Oct. 1, at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home.

Edna Gros

HUNTERSVILLE – Edna Wilson Gros, 89, died Sept. 29, 2011, in Huntersville.
Born Feb. 1, 1922, in Winston-Salem, she lived a number of years in Yadkinville before moving to Charlotte.
Survivors include her daughter, Sue York Gray, and husband, George, Cornelius; brother, Ellis Ray Wilson; sisters Geraldine Bolin, Audrey Vaughn and Sylvia Jean Holder; granddaughter, Angie Gray Lambert, and husband, Kevin, Huntersville; and great-grandchildren Christopher and Kelsey Lambert, both of Huntersville.
A graveside service was held Sunday, Oct. 2, at Deep Creek Friends Church in Yadkinville. Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home was in charge.

Annie H. Nelson

HUNTERSVILLE – Annie Faye Houser Nelson, 89, of Huntersville, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at The Havens.
Born June 26, 1922, in Mecklenburg County, Mrs. Nelson was a daughter of the late Alda Long and James Franklin Houser Jr.
She was a lifelong member of Gilead Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. She was well known for her work at Joe’s Fabric and the board of elections.
Her husband, Carl Jackson Nelson, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, C.J. Nelson, and wife, Laurie, Lincolnton; daughters Jean Hager and husband, Richard, Concord, and Kitty Giese and husband, Ken, Huntersville; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Gilead ARP Church, conducted by the Rev. Robert Hunter, with burial in the church cemetery. Samuel S. James, Funeral Service Licensee, was in charge.
